Monetize Your Passion Using the Power of Social Media





Your passion is something you love to do; something that gives you fulfillment or joy or peace or just something you really enjoy doing. Can you name one thing in this world is better than getting paid to do something you already love to do ?

No matter what your passion is, as long as it gives value, you can monetize it for sure. What I mean by value is anything that educates, entertains, inspires or solves a problem. If your passion can do that then you can definitely make money from it.

 Social media is way past the stage where only famous artists and actors can monetize the platforms, these days all you need is to give value (like I explained above) and you're good to go.
 
For example: Do you like making people laugh? You can create and post funny videos such as skits or funny pictures such as memes and before you know it you are the next Mr Macaroni, Sydney talker or even krakstv. 

Like to cook, dance or even write? You could use social media to teach other people who love what you can do but are not as naturally inclined as you are. You can sell consultations, ebooks, classes, memberships, etc.

 Even if you don't want to teach, there are lots of other ways to monitise your passion such as posting videos and pictures of you doing what you love while the platform reward you for your effort. 


How to monetize your passion on social media in 4 easy steps.


1. Create and Optimize Your Social Media Page

Once you have created the account the next thing you do is to optimise and set up your page or your profile in a way that when people check it, they can easily tell what you do and what value do you have to offer them, without even digging deep into your content. Use your bio to explain who you are and what you do. That way it's easy for your target audience to identify you, reach out to you and follow you.

2. Have a Content Strategy

 A lot of people think that having a content strategy is only applicable for businesses or coaches but that's not accurate. A content strategy tells you what to post, when and how to post it, and even what to do after posting it. Social Media is entirely dependent on content, so how and when you put out content greatly affects your goal on Instagram. Leave a comment if you want to know more about this.

3. Engage with The Right People

Engagement in social media language means likes, saves, comments, shares etc. Follow and engage with people who are likely to be interested in what you are doing. These are called target audience. Engaging with your target audience makes you more visible to them. E.g when you like someone's picture, they might check to see your profile and of they like your content, they are very likely to follow you. 

4. Be Consistent and Believe in Yourself

Keep showing up, keep putting out content. As long as you know that you have something to give, you will definitely achieve your goal.
