7 Amazing Tips to Kill Your Fashion Blues
Hi, and welcome to my corner again, rather it’s our space. It’s FashionXtra and it’s our second post. Last time, I talked about knowing what makes a dress good quality and if you’re still buying dresses blindly with mixed results, it’s because you haven’t read that post yet.
In this post, I would
be giving you simple guides on choosing your outfit for each day and each
outing. Trust me, this is a life-saver and if you battle with choosing what to
wear every day like a friend of mine used to, then you would be doing
yourself a world of favour to read this to the end.
Considering the stress involved in choosing an outfit to
wear even when the dress code is being stated, most ladies still wear
anything that their hands meet when they open their wardrobe/ luggage. This is
of course a general problem that most ladies struggle with. Most times, they
have the feeling that "they don't have what to wear" because they
always feel that the outfit is too "old" or they have worn
it too much.
But despite all these, you can choose an outfit for everyday
outings by simply having a great sense of style and effort in achieving it.
Without thinking too much about how to go about this, you have to consider the
following steps; let's jump into it.
1. Start With Your Mood & Mindset.
This is the first thing to do. What is your mood like and
what mindset do you plan to have with that outfit? This has a way of showing
you how to choose an outfit. When you are not feeling happy, it already tells
you to go for an outfit that can brighten your mood. That is an outfit that
will make you feel happy regardless of your mood.
Sometimes, you might want to look casual, your mindset has
already pointed to you, the kind of outfit to choose. Always let your mood and
mindset speak to you as to what outfit to go for.
2. Think About the Kind of Outfit You Love Putting On
What is your dress sense like? What do you love
putting on that makes you "feel good about yourself? In this way, you can
stay true to yourself. Know what you like to wear and go for it. If you are the
type that likes highlighting some parts of your body, go for those outfits and
you will find out that you won't be struggling with choosing an outfit every
day.
3. Go with the Weather
During cold weather, you should think of going with an outfit that will bring warmth and make you feel comfortable. To make it easier for you, you can download apps on weather forecasts that give daily notifications. This way, you tend to reduce the discomfort that comes when you choose the wrong outfit for that day.
4. Think About the Occasion
Always remember this: Dress according to the occasion. Every outing has its unique style of dressing. What you wear to hang out is different from what you wear to the office or to a dinner date. Always allow the purpose of the outing to decide how to choose your outfit.
You don’t dress casually to a job interview or wear a dinner
gown to the beach, except you are a Kim Kardashian or a Tyra Banks who has an
auspicious photo shoot to do.
5. Start with your Essentials
Start with the basics things that complement every outfit
like the shoes, bags, jewellery and the hair you wear. With these, you can have
a clue as to which outfit will go with the shoe and bag or which outfit
you can wear with the hair. Likewise which jewellery will go with a particular
outfit? If you can do this, it will help reduce the stress involved in choosing
the outfit to wear.
6. Vibe with Colour
Sometimes not knowing how to choose your outfit can be a result of which colour of outfit will match each other. Think of colours that bring compliments to you and make you appealing to every eye.
This way, you tend to reduce the stress that comes with
choosing an outfit. Because you already know the colours that go with your skin
tone and you rock the outfit just as you want it.
For those that find it difficult in choosing the colours of
an outfit, you can download a colour palette and know how
to mix colours that will give you that perfect combination.
7. Go Online
It is always good to stay up to date, to renew your outfit
ideas. Therefore, reach out to creative stylists, magazines, and blog posts
that are related to fashion. This way, you can ease the stress involved in
choosing an outfit for an everyday outing.
Most emerging fashion trends always make their way to the internet, so if you want to keep in touch with the latest updates, the internet space has to be your buddy.
Conclusion
Never be in a hurry to choose an outfit every day. Looking good is good business and getting it done the
right way saves you a whole lot when you follow the steps that have been
mentioned above.
You don't want to be in a position when you run into your
friend and you start hiding from him/her or when you go for an occasion and you
are unnoticed or you are so embarrassed as to how you look.
You have more than enough to look smart, elegant and beautiful.
Take that effort today and make it a habit to choose the right outfit every
day.
