The Economy of Joy (2)
Hi guys. I trust you had a wonderful time in church today, I did. I am also certain you now look forward to our weekly Sunday posts from Gloryzone church. We won’t disappoint you today, we don’t do that here.
Today, we bring you excerpts from the second teaching on the
Economy of Joy series by Dr Karis
AmehWealth, titled “The Joy of the Lord”.
It’s a month of dancing, singing, and of course, rejoicing and if you haven’t
rejoiced the Gloryzone way before, don’t only go online and stream the service,
come over and catch the fever live. There are now 2 services; one holds at 8
a.m. and the second service holds at 10 a.m. immediately after the first
service. Join us, and let’s BAF together next Sunday, and if you missed last Sunday's post, take a moment and read it so you can catch up real quick.
Without further ado, let’s go to the Joy of the Lord:
Jesus was being very practical, very real in John 16:33. He
didn’t exempt us from the challenges of life coming our way, but he assured us
that he has overcome them. He has deprived it of power to harm us; ours is to be of
good cheer. Joy is our response to our revelation of what God has done.
The Disposition That Helps Your Joy Flow
1. Joy is a Focus
a. Focus on God
Always see God as having supplied your need before you had
the need. Set God always before you and not yourself, your problems, or your
feelings. The provisions to meet your needs were made available before the foundation
of the earth was laid, just like it was with your salvation. 1 Peter 5:7, Phil
4:19
b. Focus on the Concerns of Others (Phil 1:3-5)
A Christ-focused life has a focus on others. People will hurt you, offend you, and betray you, even in church. God uses these experiences to build your love walk and condition you to the image of His son.
"Those who are more drawn to themselves are more at risk of suicide"
c. See Circumstances as Opportunities (Phil 1:12)
Learn to see situations, even unpleasant ones through God’s
eyes. The life of Paul was a classic example of one who saw things this way. There
were lots of scenarios where Paul was found to make the best of the unpleasant
happenings around him.
You should learn to make a beautiful story out of your
situation.
2. Joy is a Fruit of the Spirit (Jer 15:16)
Fruits grow on trees, and so it is with your joy. Before fruit is produced, the trees have to be nourished. The nutrient for your joy is the word of God flowing into your Spirit.
3. Joy is a Fight (Psalm 27:6)
Satan wants to steal your joy. Your joy is your
responsibility; you have to fight for it. This fight can be a sacrifice.
Sacrifice here connotes giving beyond convenience. The fight can also be a
surrender to God’s Word and will for your life.
