JOY AND YOUR MENTAL HEALTH

The Economy of Joy (4)

August is already coming to an end and it’s been a great one. Like I said last week, we’ve probably been having so much fun rejoicing before our Father that we haven’t noticed that the month ends in three days and our first community virtual meet is here. Well, as the month ends this week, so does the teaching series for the month, the Economy of Joy.

Topics already covered are:

  1. 7 Reasons Why You Should Be Joyful
  2. The Joy of the Lord
  3. 3 Lessons from the Life of Paul

Before we go to the message for today, we must congratulate the First Lady and Associate Pastor of Gloryzone Church, Pastor Peniel AmehWealth, and the entire planning committee of the successfully organised Sparkle Conference 2022. It was a life-changing event and we are sure that testimonies were birthed and seeds of greatness were sown, and we anticipate further rejoicing over coming manifestations as a result of the event.

Today, Dr Karis AmehWealth ended the Sunday series for the month with teaching on Joy and Your Mental Health. The teaching today was from a combined service which also featured a heavy time of impartations and accurate prophecies and of course, you can catch a recap of all of that on the social media platforms of Gloryzone Church.

Next week, two services will resume; one holds at 8 a.m. and the second service holds at 10:15 a.m. immediately after the first service. Join us, let’s BAF together into the new month as it will also be a family Communion Service.

So, to Joy and Your Mental Health, Dr Karis had a lot to say, but we’ll bring you our excerpts, let’s go:

About 1 billion people worldwide, over 11% of the world’s population have at least one form of a mental health issue; top of the list are depression and anxiety disorder.

God’s word and wisdom are the answer to depression. The word of God and depression and anxiety disorder are mutually exclusive. If you are not too modern for the ancient word, you will be ahead in life. If you didn’t learn anything from 2020, learn that the systems of the world cannot be trusted.

If you didn’t learn anything from 2020, learn that the systems of the world cannot be trusted

Three Kill Joys We Must Fight Against

  1. Competition
  2. Anxiety and worry
  3. Unregulated social media use

1. Competition

Every believer has a unique destiny and there is a unique prophetic path to that destiny. In God’s kingdom, there are no inferior assignments; every call is a high call.

There are different paths to accomplishing our common purpose. Samson might have had to deal with his lion by tearing its mouth, but Daniel just had to be quiet and do nothing but allow the angel to work. If he had attempted to do like Samson, he would have been killed.

In God’s kingdom, there are no inferior assignments; every call is a high call.

You can never calculate the destiny of a man by using his current season. When God made you, He put you in a class of your own, so don’t compete with anyone when God is carving a unique path for you.

2. Anxiety and Worry

Anxiety is a natural response your flesh has towards uncertainties, but thank God we are in the supernatural. Worrying is often an indicator that you do not trust God enough.

According to research, only 8% of your worries are legitimate, the rest will never materialise. Never let worries and anxieties rob you of your joy.

The Bible tells us to cast all our cares on Jesus (1 Peter 5:7), and Jesus told us to not worry (Matt 6:26-33). Jesus used the examples of the flowers of the field and the birds of the air to show that if God cares over them, as vain and irrelevant as they may be, then he cares about us.

3. Unregulated Social Media Use

In the world today, there is a positive correlation between the use of social media and the increase in the rate of suicide and levels of fear, low self-esteem and sleep disorder. People who spend more time on social media have higher suicide tendencies than those who spend less time on the internet.

People who spend more time on social media are also found to be less productive at work compared to those who spend less time on their phones.

You should not put yourself into making your joy dependent on your likes or followers, competing with people who have larger resources than you to promote their content.

How to Get Rid of Kill Joys

  1. See Christ as your satisfaction
  2. Stay in the Word
  3. Stay prayerful
  4. Be grateful for the little
  5. Practice constant self-discipline

There are things that were said that you should already know we didn’t include here. Some of them are: the analogy of Moses and Jeremiah, the case of John and Jesus, statistics across the world about mental health, facts about social media use and much more.

To get them, dash over to Facebook or YouTube and watch the service.

From next month, we’d stop giving isolated quotes, but would now embed them within the teaching. Enjoy them for one last time though.

Dr Karis Quotes

“Even if you can interpret dreams, you can’t give Pharaoh dreams”

“Honour all men; things can flip in a day”

“Don’t get into the rat race; even if you win, you are still a rat”

“Celebrating others does not diminish you. Successful people should be pleased with the success of others”

“You don’t prepare for battle on the day of battle”
