THE AUTHORITATIVE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Hello, October is already midway, and I trust you've been having it good. It's already displaying a change of season in the weather, and we pray that this is prophetic to you and your clan this month. 

At Gloryzone Church, it's still our month of Psalm 23 and we've been enjoying the leading and the guiding of our Shepherd. 

We've been covering the series Frequency - Discerning God's Voice and Leading on Sundays and Tuesdays, and today we treated the fifth part in the series, but the third Sunday teaching. 

As our custom here is, we'd do a little announcement before we go to the teaching for the day, and what a teaching it was with Dr Karis today. Our major announcement today, is that the Outpouring Camp '22 is here! If you hadn't heard earlier, now you're aware that this life changing program holds from the 18th - 20th of November, and you'd better prepare already.

So, let's go to today's teaching:

To be able to discern the authoritative voice of the Spirit, you first have to create an environment to hear God. 

The reason for this teaching is not because God can't reach you, it is because He doesn't have to go the extra mile to reach you. When you create an atmosphere to hear from God, you minimise errors. Why wait until 2025 to hear what God can tell you in 2022?

True freedom is choosing your Master

You must create an environment to hear from God because God is always speaking, but without the environment, you won't hear. A good illustration is that of a radio station. A radio station can be broadcasting at this moment, but without a device to hear, you cannot hear what is being broadcasted. Even if you have a radio, you still have to tune in, and still you must listen in a quiet environment, you cannot hear well in a noisy place. 

Why wait until 2025 to hear what God can tell you in 2022?

Prayer isn't a monotonous monologue, it is an interesting dialogue. 

Five ways to create an environment to hear God:

 1. Reassure your heart of the Father's love

This has to be something you get to know and believe. You need to have scriptures that constantly reassure you of His love, and focus more on Him trying to reach you than on your effort to hear Him. 

 2. Remove distractions

Take out external and internal distractions. The price for everyone communication is attention. 

Isolate yourself and create an atmosphere that is void of distractions. Distractions can come in form of people, social media, work etc. 

 3. Remain in the Word

Daily study, reading of and listening to the Word gives you understanding and it nourishes your spirit. 

You should be able to find time for daily study of the Word. If you can't read it, find an audio Bible, play it and meditate on it. You'll eventually hear God speak to you through it. 

 4. Recharge your spirit in tongues

It activates spirit to hear the voice of God from heaven

 5. Rejoice in songs and worship

Always have a song of rejoicing in your heart. When you set your heart on making melody, it becomes easier to tune in to hear from God. 

The voice of the Lord is worth waiting for. Don't try to fill a vacuum that only Christ can fill. 

Listen to select songs that take you higher in the realm of the Spirit, and that is where you'd find the secret to hearing the voice of God.
